Having grown up in STL, Snafu was heavily influenced by the midwest hip hop scene. He started spinni​ng/pro​ducing in high school after landing a job as a car audio installer and being struck by what the local producers were testing out in their cars. He had influences on both sides of the spectrum as his mother is a piano teacher and he spent much of his time being trained in classical music theory as a kid. He slowly migrated to producing drum & bass but kept the hip hop flow, and eventually moved into other realms including dubstep, trap, moombahton, glitch hop, and even some house. His productions and live sets combine a variety of genres and he aims to create music that brings people together that might not otherwise cross paths.
