"Nobody Wants to Be Lonely" is the second single from Ricky Martin's second English album, Sound Loaded, released on January 9, 2001. Ricky Martin also recorded this single in Spanish entitled "Sólo Quiero Amarte". Another version of the song was recorded as a duet with Christina Aguilera. The single is most known for being a leader in showing that high profile singles could still do relatively well without major commercial releases (which helped usher in the social norm of current singles in the US). This duet version was later included on three of Martin's compilations: The Best of Ricky Martin, 17 and 17: Greatest Hits, and the international version of Aguilera's greatest hits album, Keeps Gettin' Better: A Decade of Hits.
