Italian up and comers, Frankie Dep and 2nd Sequel make their long-anticipated debut on Stranjjur; with their short but sweet emotion-filled anthem, Fireflies. Utilizing Frankie's heartfelt vocals, coupled with intricately developed melodies, the pair effortlessly built an all-encompassing hook that insists on remaining in the conscience long after the first listen. To help brighten the Fireflies' already-blinding glow, we drafted two of our favorite new acts from the past year to draw inspiration from and remix the unique cut. Montreal's Gab Rhome works his melodic magic and shows us precisely why labels such as Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts and Lee Burridge and Matthew Dekay's label, All Day I Dream, have wisely signed the newcomer in 2013. To round out the package, we asked the Peruvian duo Fly O Tech for their rendition, and without much surprise, they spared no effort in their take. Utilizing their signature sound which relies heavily on live Fender guitar riffs over a slightly disco-tinged groove, the pair's remix of Fireflies indeed stands out and takes the original to new heights.
